Gambarian: Meditation for Bass Trombone solo

Sergey Gambarian was born in 1970 in Georgia to  a family of musicians.  After studying violin and cello with his parents Sergey started studying trombone with his grandfather at 16.  Following his studies at the Royal Conservatory in Tbilisi, Sergei moved to Israel with his family and earned his artist diploma at the Rubin Academy of Music and Dance studying with Mitchell Ross and Micah Davis.

Gambarian won the principal trombone position with the Israel Symphony/Israel Opera Orchestra in 1998, and has also performed with the Israel Philharmonic and the Chamber Orchestra of Israel.

Sergey Gambarian lost his life at the hands of a colleague who killed him during an argument. Sergey was 30 and the father of two young children when he died.

Connection with Sergey's family has been lost and I have been unable to locate.  Sergey was my teacher, and his music special to me, and so I wanted to share it with the trombone world.  I will donate all profits from his works to the red cross until I am able to establish a connection with his family.
