Bruckner/Bassett: Christus factus est for Trombone Quartet (PDF)

Bruckner's famous motet Christus factus est arranged for four trombone by Chrstopher Bassett, Bass Trombonist of the Jacksonville Symphony.  Moderate difficulty level, and works well with doubled parts as a trombone choir works.

Christopher Bassett joined the Jacksonville Symphony and the Santa Fe Opera as Bass Trombonist in 2017. Winner of the Zellmer Trombone Competition (2017), ATW Solo Competition (2016), and two ITA Competitions (2017), he has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Pops, and the Indianapolis Symphony. He was a Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center in 2016. He has worked with conductors Andris Nelsons, Alan Gilbert, Bramwell Tovey, Jader Bignamini, James Gaffigan, and Giancarlo Gurrero, among others performing in venues around the world. Christopher received his Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA, where he studied with James Markey.

Christopher has performed as solo recitalist and has worked with students at DePaul University, the University of New Mexico, and Florida State University, to name a few. At home in Florida, he maintains a private trombone studio and serves as a clinician for low brass at the local arts high school where students of his go on to win All State chairs and scholarships to top university music programs. Passionate about working with students of all ages, Christopher is a founding member of the Santa Fe Trombone Summit along with colleagues Jonathan Randazzo, Chris Buckholz, and (now retired) Mark Fisher.

Awed by the trombone at the age of 8, Christopher began playing the trombone at the age of 10 and has performed both classical and jazz ever since. Growing up in the San Diego area and relocating to western Massachusetts at the age of 12, he was a student at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. Some of his early musical mentors include Sean Reusch, Scott Pemrick, Norman Bolter, Douglas Yeo, and long-time friend and colleague in 2 different youth orchestra programs, Brian Wendel. Outside of music, Christopher resides in Jacksonville, Florida, and in his spare time enjoys traveling, cooking, getting out in nature, and reading.

Christopher is a performing artist with Edwards Instrument Co. and Peck Custom Designs.
